Improv for Parkinson Research Recruitment (NYC)


Do you have PD? Love to laugh? Want to participate in a research study?

This research study is designed to test the effectiveness of improvisation in managing symptoms of

Parkinson's Disease (PD). Participants will build community, learn new skills, work together, tell stories, and laugh!

This course uses improv techniques to address

  • symptoms and issues of Parkinson’s including:

  • hand-eye coordination

  • thinking difficulties

  • vocalization

  • communication

  • mood

  • masking

  • recognizing emotions

  • improving focus

  • active listening

  • multi-tasking

This course will be held on Zoom and requires internet access. We encourage familymembers and carepartners to attend with participants, as many games can be played athome after the class.

No previous improv experience necessary.

Participants will build community, learn new skills, work together, tell stories, and laugh!
