This virtual symposium is now free for participants to attend.
Join The Cure Parkinson’s Trust (CPT) and Van Andel Institute (VAI) on 24 and 25 September for this year’s ‘virtual’ Grand Challenges in Parkinson’s Disease and its parallel meeting Rallying to the Challenge.
Grand Challenges in Parkinson’s Disease is an annual event that brings together hundreds of scientists, clinicians and people with Parkinson’s to explore the latest Parkinson’s research. The theme for 2020 is 'When and How Does Parkinson’s Start?'.
Rallying to the Challenge is a parallel meeting designed for and by people with Parkinson’s, advocates and care partners and explores how the Parkinson’s community can impact and accelerate research. Following the theme, we have begun production of our presentations for the meeting. There will be stimulating discussions about the role of the gut in Parkinson's led by PD Avenger Richelle Flanagan (Dietician). There will be expert insights from Viviane Labrie (Assoc. Professor, Van Andel Institute) and Per Borghammer (Assoc. Professor, Aarhus University Hospital), and Professor, Tom Foltynie and Dr. Dilan Athauda will present on the growing interest in Parkinson's and diabetes and insulin resistance. A draft agenda for the meeting can be viewed here.
Both of these events are free to join online, and like previous in-person meetings, participants will be able to 'virtually' attend both scientific- and advocate-focused meetings this year.
